Pure Dominance Against Berolina Mitte

Cold autumn weather in Berlin, but just in time the rain stopped for FC Viktoria's match against the newly promoted Berolina Mitte. On a pitch soaked with puddles, FC Viktoria Berlin secured a dominant 6-0 win against the second-to-last team in the Region League Northeast.

First Action For Berolina, Then Viktoria Takes Over

Berolina started the game with some pressure, earning the first corner of the match. Viktoria’s goalkeeper Inga Buchholz confidently punched the ball away. Just two minutes later, the ball found its way into the net on the other end. A run down the right side led to Louise Trapp sending a pass toward Berolina goalkeeper Joelle Macaulay, but the ball slipped through her hands into the goal for a 1-0 lead to Viktoria (3’).

From that point on, it was all Viktoria. Berolina focused on defending, but not very convincingly. The hosts were too insecure and inaccurate with their passing, often gifting the ball to Viktoria. Five minutes after the opening goal, Kim Urbanek hit the crossbar, and Nina Ehegötz missed the next scoring opportunity (14’). Marlies Sänger then made it 2-0 and 3-0 (15’, 17’), the first after another mistake from Berolina’s goalkeeper and the second with a fantastic header.

A Special Match For Cazares

Before the half-time whistle, Anna Höfker (39’) and Carol Cazares (41’) added the fourth and fifth goals. It was a particularly special goal for Cazares. In her league debut for Viktoria, the Mexican U20 national team player not only started the match but also scored her first league goal. Once again, Berolina’s goalkeeper Macaulay failed to secure the ball, and Cazares scored from close range.

In the second half, Viktoria took it a little easier, no longer playing with quite as much drive as in the first half. They still created some chances, one from Maja Wasiak (54’), but no goals followed. Urbanek remained unlucky, missing the target several times (54’, 77’, 85’). However, in the 63rd minute, just two minutes after coming on as a substitute, Laura Casanovas scored to make it 6-0. Given the number of opportunities, the scoreline could have been even higher. Just before the final whistle, Berolina’s captain Irina von Schorlemer cleared a shot on goal from Vanessa Lux on the goal line (90’).

With this win, FC Viktoria Berlin remains hot on the heels of Union Berlin, who continue to lead the table by six points after their 8-0 victory over Turbine Potsdam II. In two weeks, Viktoria will play their final home game of the first half of the season against 1. FFV Erfurt. Kick-off is at 13:30, and tickets are available
